OP-ED: LIVE CHALLENGE FROM MARTCH 17TH-MARCH 19TH

Stack of magazines against a while backdrop.

Your copy sounds a little stiff, generic, kinda boring.

Meanwhile, you’re anything but.

So what gives? ⤵️

Good news: It’s not you (promise).

I know you’ve got a glorious idea (or 100!!) knocking around in that head of yours juuust waiting to burst out. But ideas are slippery little things that sometimes take time to coax out into a tangible form, let alone be something people want to opt into.

OP-ED is the starting point to get people to care about your offer. Over the course of 3 days, we’ll tease out your opinion, zhuzh your thesis, and come up with anchor messaging so you never have to start from a blank page.

Day 1: Opinion Exploration

On Day 1, we’ll deep into the “why” behind your offer to really get at what you’re trying to say (which has a direct relationship to what captures people’s attention).

Day 2: Shape Your Thesis

Day 2 is all about shaping the opinion you have into a thesis that feels like a North Star for your offer, one that can help you write all other copy for that offer. You’ll also get to channel your inner magazine columnist to write a mock-up OP-ED to remind you of your “why.”

Day 3: Creative Application

Day 3 we’ll wrap up by putting together phrasing that can help support your thesis, as well as walk through examples of what applying your thesis could look like to different content forms (namely, posts, emails, your sales page).

When you have a thesis to stand upon, everything else feels so much easier to write—like that next social post, email, or sales page you’ve been procrastinating on.

Not to mention…

You’ll start to build the muscle to talk about your offer without a sweat

You’ll start to advocate for the value of what you do

You’ll start to build self-trust in your offer

People will be able to feel a shift in your energy

Learning how to communicate the value of what you offer is your biggest asset, especially now.

Hi! I’m Taylor. I can’t say I have any cute nicknames—actually I have one but that’s a story for another time. You might also know me on and beyond the web as:

Murphy’s Mom. Shakespeare Nerd. Preview Text Enthusiast. Aspiring Crocheter. Poetic Writer.

Despite feeling fulfilled in my work, I spent the second half of last year burnt out and energetically depleted from having to ‘sell’ myself on discovery calls. The most important lesson I’ve learned is this:

Being able to find the words to talk ~passionately~ about your (art)work helps you to:

1). advocate for the value of your work

2). call in the right people to your offers

3). get paid fairly as a working creative

But if you feel all sorts of overwhelmed at the thought of where to start, I got ya.
